We may even pay you hard cash if your reviews are regular and something special. You won’t get rich as a Budget Getaways reviewer, but you'll subsidize your next weekend away.

Review Guidelines

Where to start: To improve the odds of your review being published, feel free to inform us beforehand the establishment you intend reviewing. Because, who knows, someone may have got there before you. 

Review Format: All reviews submitted must follow a set format, which can be downloaded and printed by clicking here. Reviews that do not follow this format won’t be considered for publication. Once you've completed your review, it can be entered into our ONLINE FORM and e-mailed to us.

Originality: Your review must be original and reflect your own experience, that is, not paraphrased from an article or based on another person’s experience. In other words, if you have not been there personally (and within the past 6 months), your review will not be considered.

Presentation: Reviews typed in ALL CAPS, poor grammar, bad spelling and foul language etc will not be considered. This said, we do edit most content to fit the Budget Getaways style and branding.

Photos: Approximately 8-10 JPEG images should accompany your reviewed establishment. These should be in landscape format (not portrait/vertical) and in high resolution, as we will resize to our needs. When submitting images, try aim for a balance between general setting, exterior and interior. Unless your subjects are supermodels, avoid including Uncle Joe and Aunt Gertrude in your submitted images. Additional jpeg images can be e-mailed to info@budget-getaways.co.za

Fake content: Reviews written by owners or managers or anyone with a direct vested interest in the establishment will be rejected outright. Don’t even be tempted to write a fake review…
